Calligraphic sketch. Jan #37 is a play built on personal aesthetic perception not only of the most spiritual text from the Book of the Way and Grace of Lao Tzu, but also of the process of writing it. Calligraphy consists of both the end result, which conveys the meaning of what is written, and a momentary, unique movement. This movement makes Oriental art related to a musical performance - that part that ceases to exist immediately after a stroke of a brush or a sound. On the stage will be: a written poem, a video recording of the work of a calligrapher and a cellist whose part is spelled out in such a way as to coincide with every hand movement on the video recording.
